yoshitaka amano

This man has been my favourite artist since I was 11 (and also introduced me to Gustav Klimt). You can find many more high quality images of his work at this gallery.

alidra alic

This is the kind of jewellery that would have had my old jewellery tutor foaming at the mouth. I can't count how many times she complained about pieces that were "too raw" and looked like "things were growing out of them". I really enjoy a little slight repulsion on the otherhand. The first thing I thought of when I found Alidra Alic was the 1988 film Akira.

I must admit though, I've slightly scarred myself now by reading about screw worms and "Mongolian Death" worms this morning.

library of dust

“... these canisters hold the cremated remains of patients from an American psychiatric hospital. Oddly reminiscent of bullet casings, the canisters are literal gravesites. Reacting with their ash inhabitants, the canisters are now blooming with secondary minerals, articulating new metallic landscapes.”

Library of Dust by David Maisel. I'll definately be buying his book come payday on Friday.
